West Burra Firth

An inlet on a western arm of the mainland of Shetland, West Burra Firth opens out into St. Magnus Bay, 4 miles (6 km) east of Melby. The settlement of West Burrafirth with a pier lies to the east of the inlet and there are several Iron-Age brochs and prehistoric remains in the vicinity. There is a ferry link to the island of Papa Stour.
