West Loch Roag

A large sea loch on the west coast of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, West Loch Roag is separated from East Loch Roag by the island of Great Bernera. The inner part of this loch provides extensive and sheltered anchorage but it is not easily accessible by larger vessels as the approach is encumbered by numerous islands, islets and rocks. The most important of the islands situated within the loch are Pabay Mor, Vacsay, Vuia Beg, Vuia Mor and Floday. The long narrow Little Loch Roag opens into the loch from the south.
