East Loch Tarbert
(Loch An Tairbeairt)

East Loch Tarbert (Gael: Loch An Tairbeairt) is the name given to the large sea inlet that lies between South Harris and North Harris, Western Isles. East Loch Tarbert and West Loch Tarbert almost separate North Harris from South Harris, although they are joined by a small isthmus. It is on this isthmus that the village of Tarbert lies. The islands of Scotasay and Scalpay lie within East Loch Tarbert.
