West Loch Tarbert

West Loch Tarbert is the name given to the large sea inlet that lies between South Harris and North Harris in the Outer Hebrides. West Loch Tarbert and East Loch Tarbert almost separate North Harris from South Harris, although they are joined by a small isthmus. It is on this isthmus that the village of Tarbert lies. The islands of Soay Mor, Soay Beg and Isay are located within this sea loch, while Taransay lies to the south of its entrance.
