Glen Alladale

A picturesque and remote valley in Easter Ross, Glen Alladale lies at the centre of the Alladale Estate, 10 miles (16 km) west of Bonar Bridge. The Alladale River rises in the Freevater Forest and flows east to join the Abhainn a' Ghlinne Mhoir, becoming the River Carron. The valley also contains two substantial remnants of Caledonian Pine Forest, extending to a total of 72 ha (177 acres), which are protected as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
