Kirkdale House

A mansionhouse in Dumfries and Galloway, Kirkdale House lies on Wigtown Bay, 5 miles (8 km) southeast of Creetown. It was built in 1788 by Robert Adam for the wealthy merchant Sir Samuel Hannay of Mochrum. Nearby can be found a well-preserved sawmill with water-wheel, an ice-house, an Egyptian-style bridge and the remains of the old parish church of Kirkdale with Sir Samuel Hannay's mausoleum.
