Methven Castle

A distinctive landmark of Central Perth and Kinross Council Area, Methven Castle is a 17th-century tower house located a mile (2 km) east of Methven. Built to the designs of John Mylne (1611-67) in 1664, it was extended by James Gillespie Graham (1776 - 1855) between 1800 and 1825. It is notable for its unusual corner towers and it is where Queen Margaret Tudor died in 1541. The castle is now home to an architectural practice, which was responsible for its restoration.
