Hawk's Neb

(Hawk's Nib)

A distinctive rock outcrop on the southeast coast of the Isle of Bute, Hawk's Neb is situated a mile (1.8 km) southeast of the settlement of Kilchattan Bay. Wrongly identified on the Ordnance Survey map as Hawk's Nib, it takes its name from the Scots word 'neb' meaning 'nose' owing to its shape. The West Island Way curves around Hawk's Neb.
