A headland on the south side of the entrance to the Eden Estuary in NE Fife, Out Head lies 2 miles (3 km) north of St Andrews. The headland represents a build up of sand, protecting the inner estuary, and includes a system of sand dunes. The golf courses of the St. Andrews Links, comprising the Old, New, Jubilee, Eden and Strathtyrum eighteen-hole courses and the nine-hole Balgove Course, lie on and to the south of this headland.
