Point of Ardnamurchan

The western headland of the Ardnamurchan peninsula in Highland Council Area at the Point of Ardnamurchan (meaning 'point of the great ocean') is popularly described as the westernmost point of the British mainland, although the actual westernmost point is Corrachadh Mor, a half-mile (1 km) to the south. A lighthouse was built here in 1849.
