One of the summits that comprise Waterhead Hill in N Dumfries and Galloway, Big Meaul rises to 484m (1587 feet) between Wee Meaul and Nether Hill, within the Carsphairn Forest, 4 miles (6.5 km) north of the village of Carsphairn. Another hill called Meaul lies 2¼ miles (3.5 km) to the north northeast.
