A headland in NW Sutherland, Faraid Head (Gael: An Fharaid, sometimes known as Far Out Head) separates Balnakeil Bay in the west from Sango Bay in the east, and is located 2 miles (3 km) north northwest of Durness. Much of the headland is occupied by an extensive system of sand dunes, whilst the control centre for the Cape Wrath Bombing Range is located high on the cliffs at its northern end.
