Dundrennan Abbey

Located at Dundrennan in Dumfries and Galloway, Dundrennan Abbey was built in 1142 by David I. It stands in a small, secluded valley, a typical location for Cistercian foundations. Now in the care of Historic Scotland, it is believed that Mary Queen of Scots spent her last night in Scotland in this abbey.
