A tied island on the northwest coast of Whalsay in the Shetland Islands, Kirk Ness is located a quarter-mile (0.5 km) north of Brough. A road passes over the tombolo which connects it to Whalsay, providing access to Whalsay Parish Church and the island's cemetery which surrounds it. Suther Ness, immediately to the west southwest, represents another tied island.
