Brimmond Hill

A hill of Aberdeen City Council Area, Brimmond Hill rises to 265m (869 feet) 1¼ miles (2 km) northwest of Kingswells and 5½ miles (9 km) west northwest of Aberdeen. Its summit is marked by a bronze geographical indicator mounted on a cast iron pillar and surrounded by a low rubble-built enclosure, which was erected as a war memorial in 1917, and an Ordnance Survey primary triangulation pillar installed in 1936 for the re-triangulation of Great Britain. Nearby are several communications masts. A hoard of seventy-seven 15th and 16th century coins was uncovered on the hill in 1942. It lies within the Brimmond and Elrick Country Park.
