A mountain in the NW Highlands, Carn Eige rises to a height of 1183m (3881 feet) northeast of Loch Affric, on the border of the Skye and Lochalsh and Inverness districts of Highland Council Area. It is one of the highest mountains north of the Great Glen. Its name is derived from the Gaelic for 'file hill'.
