Caol Ila Distillery

Located on Loch Nam Ban, to the north of Port Askaig on the Isle of Islay in Argyll and Bute, the Caol Ila Distillery produces Caol Ila malt whisky which takes its name from the Gaelic for Sound of Islay. Established in 1826, it led to the formation of a small community on this part of the Islay coastline. There are fine views towards Jura from the distillery.
