Sgurr na Lapaich

Located west of Cannich, on the border of the districts of Inverness and Ross and Cromarty in Highland Council, Sgurr na Lapaich rises to a height of 1151m (3776 feet) above Loch Mullardoch, making it the highest mountain in the area and qualifying it as a Munro. There is an Ordnance Survey triangulation pillar at its summit. Its eastern corries are snow filled until late spring, and with their steep headwalls, the 4 mile (6 km) ridge appears most prominent. The name Sgurr na Lapaich originates from Gaelic and means "peak of the bog". Another mountain of the same name lies 6¾ miles (11 km) to the south.
