Princess' Cairn

The Princess' Cairn is located at the summit of Creag an Amalaidh, overlooking Loch Fleet on the east coast of Sutherland. It is dated to 1868 on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map and once bore a marble tablet on its south side inscribed "Princess' Cairn, so named by the Princess of Wales on the spot, 1868". The Princess became Queen Alexandra, when King Edward VII acceded to the throne in 1901.
