Scottish Jewish Archives Centre

Located in the Garnethill Synagogue, which is the oldest in Scotland built in 1879, on Hill Street in the Garnethill area of Glasgow, the Scottish Jewish Archives Centre was founded in 1987. It is an information centre that collects and displays historical material on the Jews of Scotland. The archives date from the 18th century and include paintings, sculptures, a small library, synagogue minute books and registers, medals, personal papers, photographs and oral history recordings. The archives centre provides a research facility for the jewish community and beyond.
