The Sound of Vatersay (Gael: Caolas Bhatarsaigh) is the name given to the narrow sea channel that separates the island of Vatersay, in the Outer Hebrides, from Barra to the north. A causeway, completed in 1991, now divides the Sound to connect the two islands.
