Rogart Railway Station

(Sgìre Raoird)

Rogart Station (Gael: Sgìre Raoird) is a picturesque request-stop located on the Far North Line, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) southeast of Pittentrail and 1¼ miles (2 km) southwest of Rogart in Highland. This station opened in 1868 on the Sutherland Railway. It is preceded by Lairg Railway Station, 8½ miles (14 km) to the west, and followed by Golspie, 6 miles (10 km) to the east southeast. It closed briefly in 1960, but soon re-opened to continue to provide a service to this remote community. Now operated by ScotRail, Rogart Railway Station is unstaffed and was used by only 1844 passengers in 2009-10.
