Scart Island

A tiny uninhabited islet in the NW of Loch Leven (Perth and Kinross), Scart Island is situated a half-mile (0.9 km) northeast of Kinross House. It takes its name from 'scarbh' (Gaelic) or 'skarfr' (Old Norse) meaning cormorant and Loch Leven still supports a colony of wintering cormorants today.
