A rolling summit on a upland plateau in South Ayrshire, Peat Hill rises to 260m (853 feet) 5 miles (8 km) west southwest of Barrhill. The hill is surrounded by the Arecleoch Forest, although much has been cleared in this area to allow construction of the Arecleoch Wind Farm.
