Coulter Reservoir

(Culter Water Head Reservoir)

A small reservoir with an earth embankment dam lying on the course of the Culter Water in the E of South Lanarkshire, Coulter Reservoir (or Culter Waterhead Reservoir) is located in the hills a mile (1.5 km) west of Culter Fell and 4 miles (6.5 km) south of Coulter. It is operated by Scottish Water for the supply of drinking-water and covers an area of 22.1 ha (54 acres).
