Biel Water

A river of East Lothian, the Biel Water forms at the junction of the Whittingehame Water and the Luggate Burn, a half-mile (1 km) northwest of Stenton and flows northeast through the Biel Estate, under the A1 Trunk Road, A199 and mainline railway and passing West Barns, before falling into Belhaven Bay, having completed a course of 4½ miles (7 km). Groome (1885) refers to this river as Beltonford.
