Righ, Eilean

The largest island in Loch Craignish, a sea loch on the coast of Argyll and Bute, Eilean Righ has an area of 86 ha (213 acres). Taking its name from the Gaelic for 'island of the king', there are the remains of two Iron-Age forts. Sir Reginald Johnston (1874 - 1938), tutor to Pu Yi the last Emperor of China, owned the island and spent his retirement here.
