Kingsgate Centre

An important regional shopping centre located to the northeast of Dunfermline town centre, between the High Street and Carnegie Drive. Originally built 1982-85, the Kingsgate Centre is noted for its glazed atrium, terminated by a large arched windows. The centre reopened after a £50 million refurbishment in 2008, which extended its floor-space to 34,374 sq. m (370,000 sq. feet), with parking for more than 700 vehicles. The extension occupied the area of the former bus station, which has moved to the west on Queen Anne Street.
