River Tweed from Scott's View

A spectacular vantage point from Bemersyde Hill, high above the River Tweed, 2 miles (3 km) northeast of Newtown St. Boswells in the Scottish Borders. The view, which looks west towards the three peaks of the Eildon Hills, was much loved by the author Sir Walter Scott (1771 - 1832), so much so that his hearse was drawn up to the view prior to his funeral.
