Posso Tower

A much-ruined tower house located in the valley of the Manor Water, Posso Tower lies 3 miles (5 km) south of Kirkton Manor and 5½ miles (9 km) southwest of Peebles in the Scottish Borders. Once the seat of the Baird family, who were succeeded by the Naesmyths, it was probably built in the first half of the 16th century and comprised an L-shaped courtyard with a small keep at the northern end. There is also evidence of an orchards and gardens. Ruined by 1775, all that survives are foundations, a rubble-filled cellar and the southern gable of a range of outbuildings.

The scant remains are B-listed and a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
