A small district of E Edinburgh, Parson's Green lies on the northeast slopes of Whinny Hill in Holyrood Park, 2 miles (3 km) east of the city centre. Parson's Green was once a wooded estate with a fine mansion. Parson's Green Primary School was transplanted south to the neighbouring district of Willowbrae in 1961, replacing the original building on Lilyhill Terrace which was destroyed by fire in December 1958.
