Ardtornish Point

A basalt headland of the Morvern peninsula, Highland Council Area, Ardtornish Point extends into the Sound of Mull to the west of Ardtornish Bay. The ruins of a former stronghold of the Lords of the Isles stands on the headland which lies 2 miles (3 km) south of the village of Ardtornish at the head of Loch Aline. A lighthouse was established here in 1927 by David and Charles Stevenson, which now comprises a white metal tower, some 5m (16 feet) in height.
