Gairbh-eilean

A little island in the North Ford between North Uist and Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides, Gairbh-eilean extends to 8.5 ha (21 acres), is without permanent population and now forms part of the route of the North Ford Causeway. Much of the remainder of the island has been denuded by an aggregate quarry. A narrow metalled road runs around the northern shore of the island to give access to the neighbouring Eilean Leathann.
