A modest summit overlooking the north coast of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides, Sleitaval (Gael: Sleiteabhal) rises to approximately 70m (229 feet) a quarter-mile (0.5 km) south of Sollas. It is recorded on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map as Slettraval, confirmed in Erskine Beveridge's book North Uist (1911) which states is from the Old Norse 'sléttr-fjall' or 'smooth hill'.
