Kilmardinny Loch

A small loch and nature reserve surrounded by residential Bearsden in East Dunbartonshire, Kilmardinny Loch lies to the north of Kilmardinny Avenue and the south of Milngavie. Surrounded by mature trees, the loch was once part of the designed landscape of Kilmardinny House and Estate, which was purchased by Bearsden Town Council in 1965. The loch now lies at the centre of a public park and supports coarse fishing, owing to its abundance of perch and roach. The loch contains four small islands.

Kilmardinny Loch Local Nature Reserve was designated in 2010 and extends to 8 ha (19.8 acres). It comprises a mosaic of habitats, including two nationally-rare plant species; Intermediate Water Lily and Cowbane (Water Hemlock).
