Boomerang Play Park

A popular outdoor childrens' activity park located in front of Perth Leisure Pool on Glover Street, Boomerang Play Park was designed around an Australian beach theme. It involves a variety of materials, bright colours, textures, sounds and smells intended to stimulate the senses, and is intended to allow disabled and able children to play together. It was presented to the people of Perth and Kinross by the City of Perth, Western Australia, as a symbol of their historic link.

The park was built over a period of five-and-a-half days in 1994 as a Challenge project, involving a group of young people visiting from Perth (Australia), assisted by inmates of HM Prison Perth (Friarton) and Perth & Kinross District Council. It was opened on 5th August 1994 by Sarah Vanderbergh, an actress from the Australian soap Neighbours, and Provost Jean McCormack.
