A tributary of the Gowrie Burn which rises from Piperdam Loch in E Perth and Kinross, the Fowlis Burn flows southeast to Fowlis and then south through Fowlis Den and Benvie, before turning east to meet the Gowrie Burn at Greystane, having completed a course of 4 miles (6.5 km). Along its route it crosses the boundary between Perth & Kinross and Dundee City three times and receives several small streams and field-drains.
