Red Brig

A small bridge at the north end of the Skinnergate in the centre of Perth, opposite Perth Concert Hall, the Red Brig crosses the northern section of the Town Lade. This was once the location of the Red Brig Port, a northern entrance to Perth through the town wall. The foundations of the wall were found during a 1991 excavation. This Mediaeval bridge was reconstructed as part of flood-defence measures which were completed in 2001 and flood-gates now prevent the River Tay from back-flooding through the Lade.
