Gorrie Burn

A tributary of the Dighty Water, the Gorrie Burn has its source in the Clatto Reservoir 3 miles (5 km) northwest of the centre of Dundee. It flows east, to the north of the peripheral housing scheme of St. Mary's, before cutting briefly into Angus and then forming the boundary between Dundee City and Angus for a quarter-mile (0.4 km) before spilling into the Dichty Water opposite Baldovan. The burn is culverted as it passes below Strathmartine Road and again from Pitempton Farm until near to its termination. In these areas the burn is known to present a flood risk.
