Dunside Upper Reservoir

The larger of two adjacent reservoirs in South Lanarkshire, Dunside Lower Reservoir lies immediately to the west of Dunside Lower Reservoir, 5 miles (8 km) east of Dungavel and a similar distance west southwest of Lesmahagow. Retained by an earth embankment dam, the reservoir opened in 1884 and is now operated by Scottish Water for the supply of drinking-water. The pair cover a combined area of 10.5 ha (25 acres).
