King George V Park


(King George's Field)

A public park and playing fields on Mayburn Avenue in the centre of Loanhead in Midlothian, King George V Park (or King George's Field) extends to 5.2 ha (13 acres) and represents one of a network of parks which serve as a memorial to King George V, who died in 1936. It is protected in perpetuity by Fields in Trust (formerly the National Playing Fields Association) but is managed by Midlothian Council. Loanhead Leisure Centre is located in the centre of the field, along with a childrens' play area.
