Joe Graham's Monument

A prominent obelisk on Almagill Hill, between Nithsdale in the west and Annandale in the east, Joe Graham's Monument commemorates a local master of fox-hounds who died in 1893, aged 80. Located 2 miles (3 km) northwest of Dalton, it was erected in 1896 and is approximately 6m (20 feet) in height. There is a dedication below a bronze panel that features a hunting scene. The monument was B-listed in 1987.
