Cow Hill

One of the Bathgate Hills in West Lothian, Cow Hill rises to 205m (674 feet) a quarter-mile (0.5 km) southwest of Bowden Hill and a mile (1.5 km) northeast of Torphichen. The First Edition of the Ordnance Survey map shows the remains of a supposed Roman camp on its western slopes, but this was later interpreted as an old cattle pen. The ruins of Lochcote Castle lie on the eastern slopes of the hill, with Lochcote Reservoir immediately to the southeast.
