A small suburban district of E Glasgow, Wellhouse lies between Queenslie to the northwest, Easterhouse to the northeast and Barlanark to the south. The district takes its name from St. Mark's Well. In the 19th C. Well House was a substantial property. Today, the community-run Wellhouse Housing Association is responsible for 830 rented properties formerly owned by Glasgow City Council. The area benefits from a primary school. Wellhouse Amateur Football Club was founded in 1976.
