A modest summit which represents a foothill of the Pentland Hills in the S Edinburgh, Buiselaw rises to around 240m (787 feet) below White Hill, a quarter-mile (0.4 km) north of Midlothian Snowsports Centre and a similar distance southeast of Swanston. Its slopes are occupied by Lothianburn Golf Course.
