A major road junction in East Dunbartonshire, the Canniesburn Toll Roundabout connects the A81 (Maryhill Road), A81 (Milngavie Road), A739 (Bearsden Road) and the A809 (Drymen Road). Even in the 1930s, this was a complex junction, although it was a relatively simply four-way junction in the 19th C.
