Carn Dearg

A mountain in the Lochaber district of the West Highlands, Carn Dearg rises to 834m (2736 feet) 2 miles (3 km) east of Glen Roy and 5 miles (8 km) north of Glen Spean. It is classified as a Corbett and its name means 'red hill' in Gaelic. Confusingly, there are several other Carn Deargs in the vicinity; one reaching 815m / 2673 feet 5 miles (8 km) to the north, a second which rises to 768m (2519 feet) 4 miles (6.5 km) north northeast, a third of 888m (2913 feet) 4½ miles (7 km) to the east northeast and a fourth which reaches 736m (2414 feet) 10 miles (16 km) to the northeast.
