Gallanach Bay

A rock-trimmed bay on the west coast of Argyll and Bute, Gallanach Bay lies between Rubh' an Fheurain in the north and Aird na Cuile in the south, 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Oban. The bay comprises two coves; namely Port Lathaich and Port Cuthaich. The first transatlantic telephone cable (TAT-1) was brought ashore here in 1956.
