Black Lynn

(Black Lynn Burn)

A stream which flows through Oban in Argyll and Bute, the Black Lynn (sometimes the Black Lynn Burn) rises in Glen Shellach, 2 miles (3 km) south of the town centre. It flows east northeast through the former Loch a' Mhuilinn which once filled a mill lade before turning north to flow through the town centre and fall into Oban Bay. Within the town the stream is often hidden, but it is best exposed between Aird's Crescent and Stevenson Street. Its principal tributary is the Soroba Burn.
