Rothes Halls

The Rothes Halls are the principal entertainment and conference venue in Glenrothes (Fife), located in the town centre, immediately adjacent to the Kingdom Shopping Centre. Opened on 30th November 1993 by actor Richard Wilson, the halls are known for their vibrant programme of popular music, theatre, amateur dramatics, dance and children's shows. It is the only venue in Fife which can stage large-scale theatre productions owing to the large and flexible space available. The Halls were a long time in gestation, with calls for an effective community entertainment venue for the rather desolate New Town from at least the early 1970s. Construction was delayed by fiscal constraints both in the 1970s and 1980s. The Halls comprise a main auditorium which can seat an audience of 616 and has a standing capacity of 1400; a smaller hall that can seat 180 people, nine function rooms of varying sizes, exhibition and gallery space, and a café. The gallery takes touring exhibitions as well as displays of local artists' work.

The venue is now one of four run by Fife Cultural Trust on behalf of Fife Council.
